(A)Briefly discuss depression or generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). Compare and contrast TWO psychological perspectives discussed throughout the course (see list in Category 1) with regard to cause and treatment of either depression or GAD. Generalized Anxiety Disorder
It is a type of anxiety disorder that affects a lot of people. The person suffering from GAD has a free floating anxiety about regular and common things and situations.
It is very different from normal anxious feelings of people worried about their family, finances, and future. A person having GAD would be worrying excessively and uncontrollably about things in their life several times a day. People with GAD often say that something bad would happen and they cannot control their worries.
The worry and anxiousness is uncontrollable, excessive and extremely disruptive to the person's life.
Symptoms of GAD:-
A person having GAD often reports to having excessive uncontrollable and free floating anxiety about everything and anything. They are not able to tell what is particularly bugging them.
GAD is treated with appropriate medications and psychotherapeutic Treatments. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is being widely used for GAD as it has been quite effective in a lot of cases related to GAD
