Refute the following statement with a rational belief:
Your past behavior determines how you behave now and in the future. You may habitually act or react a certain way, but you can identify the behaviors that didn’t serve you well in the past and learn from them.
People are the products of their environment and they are very adaptive to their environment which is strengthened by the survival of the fittest theory. This would mean that people are also quick learners and they have the ability to overcome their past life and behaviours in order to learn and live in a new thriving environment. Because people would have come across multiple environments such as, parenting, family, friends, culture, religion, socio-economic factors etc., it would be very difficult to point out one particular behaviour as the basis for the future behaviours. Besides, as people develop their worldview and understanding about the world would keep changing thus, they wouldn’t behave in a way they behaved when they were children.
