Answer #1

Scientism and postmodernism tries to define everything, every concept and phenomena of this world in terms of rationality and facts. There are things, concepts and phenomena that cannot be explained by facts, the conflict arises here. The belief and faith in a creator or God is denied by scientism and postmodernism. This belief and faith of people are deeply related to their individual life, family life, and social life. This belief and faith helps them to be morally responsible. Religion never denies science and it principles, it accept science to some extent, scientism and post modernism has no place for religion, and also that it fails to answer the question posed by the religion. This has worsened the philosophical and cultural tension between science and religion.

Ethics vs. Ethos Philosophical ethics distinguishes between what people do value from what people should value. Ethics asks us to step back and rationally evaluate the customary beliefs and values that people do hold. Philosophical ethics requires us to abstract ourselves from what is normally or typically done, and reflect upon whether or not what is done, should be done, and whether what is valued, should be valued. The difference between what is valued and ought to be valued is...

Megan is in her physics lab performing science experiments. She has a glider m1= 402 g on a old air track that is sticky and rough it is being pulled with a string that is connected to another hanging mass m2= 220 g. When Megan releases the system from rest she finds that the acceleration is 2.1 m/s^2 lets assume that the pulley is ideal. 1.) Megan wants to find the tension in the string. 2.) find the coefficient of...

Two violin strings each have a length of 0.32 m and are each under a tension of 51 N. The lighter string has a mass density of 6.43x10-4 kg/m, whereas the heavier string has a mass density of 2.48x10-3 kg/m. (Note, for stringed instruments, both ends of the string are fixed.) (a) What are the fundamental frequencies of the (i) lighter and (ii) heavier violin strings? (b) These strings are plucked simultaneously in such a way that the fundamental of...

Strategies involving mergers and acquisitions are particularly vulnerable to cultural problems. Mergers between two organizations often are easier to accomplish on paper than in reality. Reality may reveal that the cultures of the organization fail to mesh as easily as corporate assets. Research the history of the Daimler-Chrysler merger on the Internet. Learn as much as you can about each original company’s organizational culture. In addition, there are numerous other mergers within the same industry that have occurred over the...

The electric field between the plates of a parallel-plate capacitor is horizontal, uniform, and has a magnitude E. A small object with a charge of -2.12 mu C is attached to the string. The tension in the string is 0.420 N, and the angle it makes with the vertical is 16 \(^\circ\). What is the mass of the object and what is the magnitude of the electric field?

Dr. Ben Blalock has hired us to determine the length of the power lines between two towers, and the tension in the power line. We do this by sending a longitudinal pulse and then a transverse pulse down the line. It takes 0.15 sec for the longitudinal pulse to return, and 1.4 sec for the transverse pulse to return. The power lines are made of 1.9 inch diameter aluminum wire, with E=10.8x106 psi and weighing 175 lb/ft3. A. What is...
