Based on various theories about the lifespan, how will your understanding of the various stages of life (physically, cognitively, and psychosocially) influence you in your future career as nurse? Is there one theory that really sticks out to you?

People think that the individuals receiving medical care should be having extensive knowledge about their field. This knowledge is supplemented with the understanding of the psyche of the people of their personalities, when they are present in the different stages of their life. Nurses are generally called in the needs of the patient. The nurses should be having a thorough knowledge about the life span development.

Through lifespan considerations the nurse understands that throughout their life, humans change on a continuous basis. With the changing situations, people adapt and grow, which in turn impact their coping abilities.

• Physical : hisnarwa explaims the manner in which the body would be functioning as well as maturing from the stage of infancy to the period of adulthood.
• Cognitive: this would be considering the differences in thinking that people have as they begin to explore their environment and expand their horizons,
• Social: this would be explaining the manner in which people would be interacting with one another, as well as in response to particular situations.
• Emotional: the manner in which people would be focusing on the various aspects of their emotions, and the manner in which they would be able to use their emotions, in the form of coping abilities, is the emotional aspect,

one of the theories that help me in my working is the psychosocial developmental theory by Erickson, which includes eight stages of psychocial development, explained from infancy to ages 65+.
