In Reason, Faith, and Tradition, why does Martin Albl say that the Christian understanding of Jesus is shocking and offensive?
In this book two sections are entitled,
1. shock and offence 1 - the particularity of
jesus
2. shock and offence 2 - the humility of god
'THE PARTICULARITY OF JESUS'
In this one the basic problem martin albl sees that christians believe that jesus came on earth several thousand years ago in the corner of the world in a remote village to save the human kind and also to give them eternal life. Martin albl stated that it is shockingf to believe that out of soo many billion people amongst them some are religios teachers and leaders it is one human being who has come to save the life of all, it is a bit unbelievable and unacceptable.
Albl also stated that one cannot be said to be human and god at the same time, which is also not acceptable in ISLAM. Albl aslo said that according to christianity the saviour only lived once and at a particular place.
But, if a saviour then he would have given that power to various individuals and he should be eternal.
THE HUMILITY OF GOD
The christians believe that not just he lived at a particular time and place but also became a human, which made no sense to most of the people and was against the concept of Islam where god is absolute and different from all the things which he has created he says 'that it can only be a source of confusion'
