In my personal opinion, the death of Jesus was important to the Christian faith, as the sacrifice made him a martyr, whose ideal were worth fighting for and sustaining for the reason thst he laid his life for them.

A vigil was made of of him, which helped make the boat that is Christianity, and his sacrifice is what has kept the boat afloat.

It is a basic psychological tendencies of all humans, to rever something that has been established through hardship and to appreciate it further more.
