With regard to Kohlberg's Stage Theory of Moral Reasoning and Generational Theory, a student generally belong to the second level of moral reasoning. Some value characteristics that could be related to are:

1) There is conformity to expectations shared by the community.

2) There is conformity to social roles and unwillingness to disappoint others.

3) Avoidance of social instability and working towards community functioning.

This work is helpful for health care professionals because:

1) They can understand the cognitive adequacy and moral development of a person and treat them accordingly.

2) Health care professionals would also be able to understand themselves better and thereby take their work forward.

3)The knowledge of this theory gives an ethical dimension to the practice of healthcare.
