Answer #1

it is normal for an individual to feel anxious, be in a general state of apprehension, or experience psychological tension for a period of time.

Everyone experiences anxiety from time to time. Anxiety is characterized by a feeling of uneasiness, worry, apprehension or to experience psychological tension regarding a particular event, threat or danger (stressors). It is a somewhat normal reaction and at times can be useful as well as it motivates us to work towards fixing the problem and get rid of the anxiety. Anxiety can last up to a period of time until the threat or event is over and taken care of, for eg: the anxiety of an upcoming test dissipates after the test.

Therefore, anxiety is a healthy part of living, however, excessive anxiety that disrupts with everyday functioning is a strong indicator of an anxiety disorder.
