1. A car traveling 69 km/h is 247 m behind a truck traveling 93 km/h. How long will it take the car to reach the track? Calculate to one decimal

2.Suppose one of Napoleon cannons has a muzzle speed of 32m/s. It was aimed at 54 angle. What height can the cannon ball reach? Use g = 9.8 m/s2

Calculate to one decimal

3.A girl throws a rock horizontally, with a velocity of 13 m/s, from a bridge. It falls 17 m to the water below. How far does the rock travel horizontally before striking the water, assuming negligible air resistance? Use g = 9.8 m/s2

4.A boy throws a rock with an initial velocity of  3.9m/s at 48° above the horizontal. How long does it take for the rock to reach the maximum height of its trajectory if air resistance is negligibly small and g = 9.80 m/s2? Give the answer with two decimals

5.An astronaut stands by the rim of a crater on the Moon, where the acceleration of gravity is 1.62 m/s2 and there is no air. To determine the depth of the crater, she drops a rock and measures the time it takes for it to hit the bottom. If the depth of the crater is 108 m, how long does it take for the rock to fall to the bottom of the crater?

6.To determine the height of a bridge above the water, a person drops a stone and measures the time it takes for it to hit the water. If the time is 1.6 s, what is the height of the bridge? Neglect air resistance.

Use g = 9.8m/s2

Answer #1

the first question is confusing. If it is asked how much time car will take to cover 247 m then the ans is 12.9sec. but in order to reach the track(i.e. to touch the truvk) while the track is still in motion it will take infinite time( it will never touch the track). I have given both the solution please find the one you are asked for.
