How does the Bohr model address the limitations of Rutherford's model? Support the answer with a diagram

Answer #1

The points stating the overcomes the drawback of Rutherford's are -

1. Bohr's model said the the electrons revolve around the nucleus don't radiate any energy and these non- radiating orbits are called stationary orbits.

2. Rutherford model was also fail to explain about spectral line of hydrogen atom. This was also overcome by Bohr's model. It states that an atom can emit or absorb radiation in form of photons only when an electron jump from a higher to lower or lower to higher orbit respectively.

3. Regarding Nuclear stability Bohr said that the centripital force required for the rotation of an electron around the nucleus is provided by electrostatic attraction force generated between electron and the nucleus.

Use the uncertainty relation to answer Rutherford's question and Schrodinger's criticism. Rutherford's question: How does an electron decide at what frequency it is going to vibrate when an electron jumps from one stationary state to another? It seems to me that you would assume that the electron knows beforehand where it is going to stop.
