temperature on the Earth. Explain as fully as you
can.
Fossil fuels are Carbon and hydrogen derivatives(mostly). So, when they are burnt, they release the carbon dioxide gas along with the energy. This carbon dioxide is a major greenhouse gas (Gas that traps the heat of atmosphere and thus increase the temperature of earth).
So, the emission of carbon dioxide by the burning of fossil fuels lead to the increase in the amount or concentration of this greenhouse gas in the environment which is the reason for the increase in global average temperature.
