Physics behind airfryer: How does an air fryer work? Does it really use air to fry food without oil?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Air fryers use a circulation of hot air to cook food that would otherwise be submerged in oil. The air fryer's cooking chamber radiates heat from a heating element near the food, thus cooking it more efficiently. A fan is generally used to circulate hot air around the food. The opening at the top is used to take air in and there is an exhaust at the back that controls the temperature by releasing any undesired hot air. It is also used to counter any increases in internal pressure. The temperatures inside can go up to 230 °C (445 °F) depending on the model. For safety, it is essential to not put oil inside the air fryer or have flammable objects near the air fryer. In general, cooking times in the air fryer are reduced by 20% in comparison with traditional ovens

Bob is choosing between a used car with no air bags and one with air bags. The salesman ( a physics drop-out) says there is no reason to spend extra money on air bags because the impulse on your body in a crash is the same with or without air bags. So, air bags don't really help. a. In what sense is his argument true(What equation for impulse?) b.) Draw 2 diagrams of a passenger during a crash. Show the...

Hi, I have an assignment in Physics where I'm supposed to determine the science behind a man running up and kicking a trash bin, which is on a rail and rotates around, hitting him back in the face. I'm supposed to explain the science behind it based on what I've learned this year (torque, laws of physics, acceleration, potential and kinetic energy, angular quantities, gravity, etc), but I'm stuck on how I should use any of it. Could I please...
