QUESTION 5

  1. When using the sink/float method to determine the similarities in densities between two objects

    two immiscible liquids are chosen

two liquids with identical densities are chosen

the liquids chosen must contain bromine

the particles will settle at the same level

the particles will show buoyancy depending upon their size

QUESTION 6

  1. A dispersion curve

allows for the determination of the density of a substance

shows the relationship between wavelength and refractive index

is a means of determining the index of refraction

shows the correlation between composition and density

demonstrates that glass is an amorphous material

10 points

QUESTION 7

  1. The Becke line

can be used to determine the refractive index of glass

shows the density difference between opaque samples

depends upon temperature changes in a solid sample

allows for the determination of density when the volume of the object is not known

QUESTION 10

  1. A high speed projectile striking glass without shattering it

creates radial cracks on the same side as the impact

creates a crater on the side of impact

creates projectile fragments in the glass

can show crater asymmetry indicating the direction of the projectile

    all of the above

Answer #1

Out of all these questions only few questions are related to biology. So there answers are:

8) a soil sample cotain all these things i.e inorganic minerals, clay, decayed vegetation and animal matter.so last option none of the above is the right answer.

9) In this question PLM and organic solvent extraction methods can not be used to characterize soil samples because these terms are not related to the soil. Even i have doubt on SEM also that is scanning electron microscope.

11)Among these options particle size test can be performed to characterize soil samples.
