Across the enterprises, the HR role have been considered important for policy making, creating employee related handbooks and collating time cards, manage employee related benefits and issues. Progressively, this role of HR has evolved as many industries have gone through tremendous changes due to evolving technological changes and employment regulations. Therefore, the role of HR has influenced by the growing need and availability of self-served technological tools. The key responsibilities which HR plays are such as Employee recruitment and hiring, acting liaison among top management and employees, management of employee benefits, playing an advisory role and making rules or policies and handling employee related issues.

But if we see the basic duties of HR profession has not changed but this role has evolved over the period due to the drastic changes in the technological and business-related practices. The traditional tasks of HR have become simpler using technology. Online HR portals allow employees to do most of the tasks by themselves e.g. managing insurance related policy, tracking of performance goals. Hence, the focus of the HR has become more strategic by working shoulder to shoulder with executive management, direct engagements with employees and impact on organizational culture, development and changes.
