Core competence is the organizations strength or the values which makes it different from the others.The core competence of a firm provides a foundation from where the business will grow, seize upon new opportunities and deliver value to customers. A company's core competency is not easily replicated by other organizations, whether existing competitors or new entries into its market.It is like the piller of the organization .For example the core competence of Apple is its innovative designs and technology based on software.The core competencies of Apple are robust. It is very hard to imitate the Apple products and this gives it the edge over its competitors. It has a closed proprietary system, which makes sure for Apple that there is no evasion of its skills and its secret . On the other side Apple is very consistent in its product portfolio development.
