a) The complete JD of a Quality controller is given below

General Duties: Report directly to the quality manager.Quality controller is responsible for safety, quality and hygiene of the beverages. He/she adheres to the good manufacturing practices(GMP) and product standard quality.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for programming critical control points and monitoring
  • Ensuring product quality and safety throughout manufacturing process
  • Responsible for allergence testing and sanitation verification
  • Maintain all the record logs and documentation
  • Rating the product samples with the help of score cards and benchmarking
  • Maintain correct recepie guidelines
  • Ensure employees are following all the food safety practices and worker safety practices
  • Educate the employees on food safety and safe quality food standards
  • Collect product samples from labs as and when directed for product development
  • Issue disciplinary action when required
  • Conducts inspections on product, machinery and equipment
  • Timely calibration of equipments and machines
  • Adhere to the certifications necessary for quality control

Working Environment: Usually this role requires candidates to occasionally exposed to environment of large noise, high temperature,vibrations and air borne particles.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering
  • Prior experience in quality control especially in food and beverage industry
  • Critical thinking and problem solving
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work 5 days a week

b) Two major points why providing a JD is important to the organization are

  • Performance Management: The main goal is here to set the roles and responsibilities mentioned on the JD as a metric of benchmark or as a set measuarble performance. It gives the candidate an idea about what is being expected about of a prospective employee and he/she must be well prepared for the same before joining the organization. It also gives an idea that, the candidates who are ready to take up the tasks and challenges are only invited to join the organization, else it would be preferred not to apply otherwise. It also helps the employers to coach and guide the candidates to achieve the goals.
  • Job function analysis: JD provides information on essentials of the job. JD which contains education requirements, work experience, physical conditions, organization culture and hierarchy and or licenses or certifications needed will serve as a defence against the charges of employement discrimination beyond the recruitment process.
