Setting a direction

  • An effective leader needs complete understanding of the organizations stake holder, This should have the ability to scan the environment in order to develop the knowledge about the all stake holders of the organization and also know about other events and salient environmental trends, an integrate all these knowledge in to a vision which shows what an organization could become.
  • setting the direction needs the capacities to solve the more complex problems, should be proactive in approach and also required to develop a viable strategic options
  • There are many benefits for setting the directions, such as, it will show clear future direction, It acts a a frame work for the companies objectives and goals and finally it improves and enhances the employees participation, communication and commitment.

Designing the organization

  • An effective and successful leader will always involve in teams, organizational process, system and building that structure that facilitate the development of the leaders strategies and visions.
  • The difficulties in implementing the leaders strategy and vision includes: lack of understanding of accountability and responsibility within managers, Rewarding the system which are not motivating the individual or team towards desired industrial objectives, inappropriate and inadequate budgeting and also control system, mechanisms which are insufficient to integrate and coordinate the activities across the organization.
