An ideal COCA COLA plant consist of four line of filling and packaging.
Demonstrating the breadth of the plant’s packaging capabilities:
• Line 1 handles 12-oz soft drink cans at 1,800/min, packaging
them in a range of case sizes
• Line 2 fills 1- and 2-L and 20-oz PET bottles of sparkling (or
carbonated) beverages at up to 800/min
• Line 3 accommodates 12- and 20-oz and 0.5-L PET bottles of both
sparkling beverages and Dasani water at speeds to 800/min
• Line 4 hot-fills 20- and 32-oz PET bottles of Powerade sports
drink at speeds to 800/min.
Every line has its own final packaging and palletize destination deducted to the product they are producing, whether it is cans, glass bottle, PET bottle.
The standard size of pallet COCO COLA use is 48 inches by 48 inches for all the product line.
1. CANS:-
pack of 12 cans are packed in a cardboard case then 15 cardboard cases in a row are placed on each other to the height of 10 cardboard cases making one pallet containing 150 cardboard cases and the shrink plastic wrapping.
2. PET bottles/ plastic bottles:-
pack of 24 bottles of 500 ml to 1.5 ltr are shrink wrapped in one unit then 10 unit in a row are placed on each other to the height 8 units making one pallet containing 80 units.
3. Glass bottles:-
pack of 16 glass bottles are assembled in plastic crate then 10 crate in a row are placed on each other to the height of 10 units making one pallet containing 100 crate then shrink wrapped and palletize for transportation.
