In Paternalistic managers style,managers give more attention to the views & social needs of their workers.They treat employees as the member of their large family & in return they expect loyalty,obedience & trust from their employee.
(In Latin pater means father).Managers try to make workers happy & they used to act as a father figure.They always consult problems with their employee & also listen their opinion.But actual decisions are taken by managers after consultation.The advantage of this type of leadership approach is-Due to communication with workers,they feel their social need and they work hard to reach the goal .Disadvantage is it takes much time in decision making and if any manager favor some workers over others,other worker will loose trust on their leader,and it will spoil the workplace environment.
