Thought

Patient satisfaction and is not always related to quality of care. Parts of the ACA have mandated that a portion of reimbursement is contingent upon 'good' patient reviews. What this has resulted in is hospitals hiring consultants to make patients happy and comfortable; giving in to their every whim. This,
unfortunately, results in poorer care overall as a patient rarely has the knowledge and experience to know that what they WANT may not be what they NEED.

I will to some extent agree to this thought because patient satisfaction depends on various factors other than the quality of care that the hospitals or the healthcare organizations provide and they are cost of the health insurance that is incurred by the patients and also the total experience that the patients encounter which may make the process a totally different way. Consultants hired by hospitals play the role of mediators or middle management who will convey the demands of the patient to the hospital management based on which the management will take actions. The wants of the patients need to be taken care of and to serve that, the needs may be avoided by the management.
