a.         Explain the principles of modeling human behavior

Answer #1

Principles are not restricted by age, location, time or situations, they are not rules but you have to abide by them and follow them. These can be seen in events, parents and children, schools, organizations etc.

In a school or college where everyone understands and knows the principles, teachers expect that the students will behave in an appropriate way. Teachers influence and control the behaviour of the students and if there is a variation in the child’s behaviour then there is special attention paid to that student by the teachers. When there is a disruptive behaviour it becomes the attention point of the teacher and they need to look at what happens immediately after the behaviour.

People always respond to positive inputs as compared to negative outcomes, if there is a task you do and your superior thank you for it, then you feel likely motivated and continue to do the task and if there is a negative process it becomes an undesirable task. In case an appropriate behaviour is reinforced it becomes a habit and vice versa. To observe the behaviour in the future is one way of telling if a response to a particular kind of behaviour is reinforcing or punishing.

Most of the people behave according to few principles in the human nature. Beliefs, values and customs all differ from region to region and groups of people. To satisfy specific needs human behaviour can be identified. Needs which are as simple as shelter, water and food, can help identify human behaviour. With human behaviour comes a very important aspect i.e. leadership which goes hand in hand to human behaviour. You must be able to understand your colleagues or classmates and resolve the problems and lead with an example.

There is also an understanding of behavioural patterns which can be both rational and unpredictable. Understanding these patterns is helpful in situations and lives that people tend to follow. These patterns also help you analyse that the humans are not totally irrational; mostly people prioritise their tasks, act according to predictive behaviours and communicate with each other. We all do things in a most predictable ways; most people maintain their primary behaviour style while few others go out of the box. The principles of modelling human behaviour go a long way in understanding people better and in a more effective manner.

There is a very important concept which is based on 1) dominance 2) Inducement 3) Steadiness and 4) compliance. It states that the half the people are fast-paced and outgoing and the other half is slow pace or reserved. These extroverts or outgoing individuals are able to act, move and talk and decide fast. However, introverts or reserved individuals are people who speak slowly and usually softer than the former ones. The other two kind of individuals are task oriented i.e. they are more about logic, results, numbers and data oriented. The people-oriented on the other hand are more of relationships, feelings and interactions with other people.

Human behaviours are complex and these principles provide an insight on how an individual behaves.
