Organization Behavior recognizes, explains and develops the attitudes and behaviors of individuals within an organization. According to Nelson and Quick (2011) the study of organization behavior is fundamental to the management of any organization. Managers therefore need to apply organization theories and concepts to be successful for various reasons. This is because the managers will be in a good position to understand the effects of group and individual behaviors in the organization thereby enhance the relationship between the managers and employees. These concepts help managers to understand why individuals behave as they do in Companies and organizations. This is achieved through appreciating the complex nature of individuals and identifying causes and effects of the individual behaviors. Therefore, the managers will be able to successfully initiate changes in the organization by assessing the likely employee response and also be able to identify what causes antisocial behaviors between the employees in the organization. In conclusion, the application of the theories and concepts of organization behavior by the managers is important as it helps the managers to understand important aspects like the initiation of change and how to handle employees in general.

This post above correctly identifying the exponential complexity of individual and collective behaviors.

We are living, breathing human beings but - at the same time - we also feel we are members of several groups, political, athletic, religious, gender and so on.

Now then, the question is which of these interleaved and often competing behaviors will we choose to engage in? That is where the inspired and inspiring leader will guide us to see her goals as our own priorities as well.

Makes sense?

Both individual and collective behavioural study is important for achieving the organizational goal. Thus, the dreams and ambitions of an individual and his/her interaction with others , especially coworkers would be helpful in determining which motivator will work and which won't. Also, how the individual will respond to change could be estimated through this medium.

The managers must guide their employees such that the organizational goals are in the path to achieve the individual's personal goal.
