Answer #1

A strike prone organization in Africa is –Marikana Lonmin Platinum Mine Company which is owned by Anglo-American Platinum. The company is situated in the western limb of the Bushveld Complex in South Africa.
The mining company is highly strike-prone organization. It has witnessed several strikes with violent incidents that have lost more than 50% of the overall yearly working hour. For example- 45 people were killed at the Marikana Lonmin mine during a wage-related strike. It all started with a misconception of rising of a 22% hike in wage, which was a false rumour. All 9,000 workers continued to strike there. Hence, it ended up with negotiation of 7.7% hike in wage.
The same company also witnessed in a strike in 2014 regarding the merging of Anglo-American Platinum, and Lonmin an Impala Platinum. The strike was fruitless as the employees lost 47% of their overall wage with this merge.
