Existing challenges faced by Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, and LinkedIn:

1. Privacy problems: In most of the social media, the privacy always remain a big threat for their users. There is always a risk for data breaches and personal information theft of the user and their misuse.

2. Fake news: It is also one of the biggest problems that occur in most of the social media platforms, which cause the spread of rumors resulting in riots and deterioration of any particular person or community for no reason.

3. Hacking and cracking:

There are chances that somebody's account might get hacked, or cracking of his password by someone else for a wrong interest, and there is a leak to confidential information, which can cost someone a lot in terms of money or reputation.

An alternative for a social networking site that would address the shortcoming of existing solution:

The design of social networking site must be in a manner which enables one to socialize and communicate with other people, but where it is almost impossible to crack or hack any different account. The data must be end to end encrypted to ensure the privacy for their users, but guidelines much be such to avoid fake news and strict actions against it.
