Please
answer excercise 1
VOLUNTARY assignment to be delivered on Thursday, February 14
during the class period. A single blade (razor) made directly by
hand. You will be assigned 5 points on the first exam to those who
deliver these two complete exercises. In both cases the original
data and the graph will be delivered as described below.
1)
Select a 25-cent dollar coin.
2)
Select an initial position to launch the coin as required in each
exercise.
First
exercise
Define
a random variable X1: = Number of 'heads' resulting in 5
launches
Record
20 values of X1. This implies that you must throw the coin 5 x 20
= 100 times.
Make a
graph x, and where the x-axis shows the possible values of X1 and
the y-axis show the frequency (the number of times a particular
value of X1 occurred).
Second
exercise
Define
a random variable X2: = Number of launches until 3 heads
occur.
Record
20 values of X2.
Make a
graph x, and where the x-axis shows the possible values of X2 and
the y-axis show the frequency (the number of times a particular
value of X2 occurred)
