The Paris agreement is an effort to bring all nations for a common cause to undertake efforts to combat the climate change and adapt to its effects. The main elements of the agreement are as given below.

1.Efforts to keep the global temperature rise in this century to 2 degrees celcius to the pre industrial levels and pursue the efforts to bring it down to 1.5 degrees.

2. To strengthen the abilities of the countries to deal with the effects of the climate change.

3.Putting in palce the financial, technological and capacity building initiatives to support the efforts of the developing and the most vulnerable countries towards these goals in alignment to their national goals.

4. Enhanced transparency of action and support through a transparency network.
