Attempt the following question.
(Note: Use acceptable reasoning from class discussion and current money estimates)
Question 1: Consider the flooding experienced in different parts of Africa recently. Use the replacement cost method to estimate the cost of flooding in your own country.
Cost of flooding = money value of flood control
Let me take an example of the floods in the Indian state of Kerala. It was a disaster in the year 2018. Despite, being very susceptible to floods Kerala hasn't seen anything of that scale before. Now by money value of flood control, let's estimate the cost of flooding.
Costs:
Total costs = 58.15+80+62= Rs. 200.15 Billion =$2.67 Billion.
Therefore the Kerala floods costed around $2.67 Billion to the Government.
Hope this helps. Do hit the thumbs up. Cheers!
