Face book will dominate the future of digital communication. It already attracts huge portion of attention time that young people spend on their devices. Face book already dominates the messaging app marketplace with Messenger and WhatsApp. Same goes for digital video; the company is a major player in the AI arms race. It has dominance in virtual reality/augmented reality as it believes that VR has the potential to be the most social platform

Cambridge analytica was the face book data privacy scandal. Mark zuckerberg’s personal profile was part of Cambridge analytica leak. This scandal appeared bad for face book but to be manageable. They believed that the fault lay much more with Cambridge Analytica than with them. The company is very good at dealing with things that happen frequently and have very low stakes. When mistakes happen, they move on.
