Rheumatoid arthritis is autoimmune disease which means body's immune system attacking own system through joints. Whereas, Osteoarthritis occurs when smooth cartilage joint surface wear out.

Rheumatoid arthritis occurs at any age but osteoarthritis is prevalent in older adults.

Rheumatoid arthritis occurs at rapid pace but osteoarthritis happens slow over years.

Rheumatoid arthritis symptoms are pain, stiffness and inflammation whereas in osteoarthritis, breakdown of cartilage is present.

In Rheumatoid arthritis, morning stiffness is longer than 1 hour whereas in osteoarthritis it's less than 1 hour.

Rheumatoid arthritis treatment include anti rheumatoid drugs and arthoplasty surgery. Whereas, treatment for osteoarthritis include NSAIDS medicines, physiotherapy and arthroplasty surgery.
