Answer: Streptococcus pyogenes belongs to the Gram-positive bacterium which causes various diseases such as acute rheumatic fever, scarlet fever, pneumonia etc.

For the lab diagnosis, culture is obtained to observe the results and positivity for the presence of the streptococcus Pyogenes in the 48 hours. Strep test also reveals about the presence of the bacteria.

The differential diagnosis includes, epiglottitis, retropharyngeal abscess, etc. The most common symptoms that occurs is the fever in most of the cases.
