Homework Answers

Answer #1

ANSWER- Absorption of Na+ by the kidneys. (d) Because prostaglandin E2 inhibits the rena collecting duct Na+ absorption by activating EP1 receptor.

Reproductive processes are associated with prostagladin because it has many physiological roles that habe been indicating in menstuation, dysmenorrhea , oviduct motility, gamate transport etc.

Inflammation and fever are also associated with prostaglandins because prostaglandins are lipid autacoids derived from arachidonic acid. They both mediate pathogenic mechanisms including the inflammatory responses by the COX cyclogenases isoenzyme. Fever is associated with PGE2, which has an important role in the regulation of body temperature.

Blood clotting is also associated with prostraglandin . A type of prostaglandin called thromboxane stimulate constriction and clotting of platlets.

So answer is option D.
