Which of the following is most important for speciation ?

(a) seasonal isolation

(b) reproductive isolation

(c) behavioural isolation

(d) tropical isolation.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Choice B: Reproductive isolation

Explanation: Biological species not only interact with each other, but they also reproduce in order to enhance their progeny size and follow in the future generations. If a group of individuals is isolated from each other on the basis of their behaviour or seasonal requirements but allowed to reproduce, they will definitely share their gene pools and isolation will be violated. However, if reproductive isolation is there among the individuals, there would be no sharing of the gene pool and complete solicitation and isolation is achieved.
