Validity is used to access the degree or extend of accuracy of results or data collected for a research. Validity in epidemiology is of 2 types :

Internal validity

External validity

INTERNAL VALIDITY: refers to how accurately or effectively a research is conducted. It is the extend to which observed findings or results lead to right conclusions for a study.

EXTERNAL VALIDITY: refers to the extend by which the concludions drawn from a research can be generalised to a wider aspect or population.
