COVID-19 Collection area:

The main two areas are used for the collection of COVID-19 sample

Sample Area first: Throat

Procedure:

1. Gently tilt the patient's head in the back position, an hold the chin.

2. Now, tell the patient to open the mouth.

3. Depressed the tongue by using a young depressor.

4. A sterile swab is taken from the tonsils and the posterior pharynx are swabbed vigorously using a rotating motion.

Sample Area Second: Nasal Chamber

Procedure:

1.again tilt the patient's head back.

2. Hold the chin.

3. Insert the swap in the nostrils (Parallele position) up to 1-2 cm to the palate until creat a resistance by nasal turbinates.

4. Keep the swap here for few seconds and withdraw slowly by rotating swab firmly in clockwise (5 times) and anti-clockwise (5 Times).
