Emergency itself means something happend sudden there are lot many meassure which we could do to prevent emergencies when the patient is in hospital.

NURSING INTERVENTIONS INCLUDE

-Assess the general condition of the patient and ask for his symptoms.

-Vitals must be hourly monitored in critical patient and charted.

-Monitor the saturation.

-All emergency drugs should be kept available (eg:-epinephrine).

-Inform the doctor immediately.

-Announce for a code blue.

-Arrange and get done with an ECG immediately.

-Assess in resuscitating or start resuscitation if there is a delay in the arival of code blue team and then shift the patient to icu immediately.

-Arrange for a defibrillator.

-The nurse should be well aware about the signs of cardiac arrest and so that she can predict the emergency.

-Reassure the patient and family members.

-Educate family members and provide support.
