Reticulocyte count measures the immature red blood cells count when patient with anemia and other blood disorder...In hematology lab reticulocyte count will be done by manual counting. reticulocyte on a peripheral blood smear strained with automated cell counter or with methylene blue.Universal precuations should be strictly followed when collecting and handling blood.
- Follow universal precautins with all specimens.
- handed and manipulate specimens in a safe biological confinement area when possible.
- Use safety devices like gloves, mask, goggles and use disposable plastic equipment wherever possible.
- Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling each specimens.
- Liqiud waste should be treated with sodium hypochlorite and solid waste should be hanlded  with robust contraniner carefully.
