Steps for blood sample collection

Apply tornequet 3_ 4 inches above selected site .Ask the patient to make a fist.Clean the site of puncture with alcohol/ spirit. By using thumb grap the skin and anchor the vein. Position the needle 15_ 30 degree and insert it into the vein. After collecting the required amount remove the tornequet. Then remove the needle and collect tha sample in blood sample tubes. Place a guaze on the site. Dispose the contaminated mateials properly.
