Answer: The World Bank is funding the drilling of boreholes in the East African Community because millions of people faces water scarcity and drought. The need of the water is essential and hence the world Bank is funding for the boreholes in the east Africa. This program will provide a platform for people of Africa to meet their needs. This will help in availability of drinking water which could be clean.The ground water distribution system will remove the problem of water. When the rainfall decreases the demand of the ground water will increase. Hence this program will benefit in many ways. Additionally, this borewells can be used for the irrigation purpose, this will also effect the vegetation and may reduce the poverty.
