what are the risks in writing for the public? Do you think writing for the public with an overt Christian world approach has risks or benefits? If so, describe them. What are the advantages of a blog compared to writing a letter to the editor or an op-ed piece? Speculate on what happened to Ian Miller.
There are so many risks in writing for the public and telling truth remains the biggest of all of them. I am saying this because when a person writes something for the public, he/she is not sure whether the public is ready to accept that point at that particular time. Many a time good and bold writers make the general public feel uncomfortable, and there is a significant risk of negative response and even severe consequences. There is a risk of whether the public would be able to see from the writer's point of view or not. A lot of times political speeches cloud the minds of common people and then they start thinking in a unidirectional way. Under such a situation, writing for the public can also be misunderstood as a publicity stunt or false propaganda.
In my personal opinion, writing for the public with an overt Christian world approach has both risks and benefits. We can not deny the fact that there are a lot of churches all around the world that still want to restore the lost values and controls that the churches once had over the common people all around the World starting right from Europe. And there are significant people who actually share the same belief. So writing with an overt Christian world approach would definitely offend these people and resistance or protest or criticism can be expected at various places especially from the churches. However, there are also Protestants who talk about Apocrypha and believe that these additional books or writings are not part of the canon and there is absolutely no debate about the content of the new testament among major Christian traditions. So what I am saying here that this segment of the population is very much open to seeing the World from an overt Christian world approach and there are significant chances that a lot of people will wholeheartedly welcome as well as support the writing.
There are a number of advantages of a blog compared to writing a letter to the editor or an op-ed piece.
An Op-ed piece is more of a newspaper thing and is generally short expressing a particular opinion occurring at a favorable news topic making some recommendation or complaint to improve matters. On the other hand, blogs are much more vast as it is nothing but a collection of online articles systematically arranged in reverse chronological order of posting and has a much wider reach of people. The writer gets a number of options to either write on the basis of their personal or public interest. They have the freedom to use a formal, casual, or professional approach. However, the biggest benefit still remains that a blog can behave like an op-ed piece but an op-ed piece can never be a blog.
