The MPI allows one patient to represent once, so that a complete picture is easily seen.The MPI includes a large table or database that includes patient information, including patient name, date of birth, gender, social security number, address, phone number, insurance information and other data used in registration and billing processes.Each patient is referred to as a unique identifier, usually a medical record number. Every time the patient gets the same health care facility, the patient will always have the same medical record number (MRN).
