Leading causes of traumatic brain injuries among children and teenagers are:

  • Falls
  • Motor vehicle accidents
  • Struck by injuries
  • Assaults

Measures that can be taken to reduce traumatic injuries in them are:

  • Helmets should be made compulsory for riding a motorcycle or bicycle. Accidents from those are very likely to cause head injuries.
  • Speed restriction law should be legistlated and speed breakers should be encouraged in accident prone areas.
  • Wearing a seat belt while traveling in a car will reduce the risk of head being hit on the window or other places so that should also be encouraged.
  • Training children from avoiding injuries from assaults, could be done.
  • Children and people invoving in boxing, fights, wrestling, being in a construction site, all should wear helmets to avoid head injuries.
  • Proper care and protective gears should be used while playing any sorts of sports.
  • Proper care and wearing protective gears should also be done while dealing with any activities like household or any others.
  • Schools, parks and public places should be built in such a way so as to avoid any falls or accidents.
