Consider why persons with disabilities are considered a vulnerable population. Share with others experiences you may have had with individuals born with a physical ailment, children or adults with cognitive delays, people who may have suffered traumatic brain injury (i.e., possibly due to an accident, effects from war, etc.). What have you learned about challenges that impact their lives, that you may not have considered without this personal experience? Research programs that exist (America, or globally) to better integrate persons with disabilities into society and mitigate the disparities they face. Develop your own list of opportunities/programs/activities that can better support people with various disabilities. Consider the micro and macro approach to your thinking, and develop at least one idea per level. Why do you feel these may be viable solutions? What may be some of the barriers that these ideas face?

• What have you learned about challenges that impact their lives, that you may not have considered without this personal experience

I came across one of my classmates who had disability in walking because his legs were amputated due to an accident.He would come to school on a wheel chair and wasnt able to participate in PE periods. He would need a helper who would push the wheelchair to different lectures.I was deeply affected by the motivation of that boy who would readily smile on problems.The school also had supporting infrastructure such as, push up ramp. alongwith the floors. But there were many days when he didnt come to school , may be beacuse he couldnt participate in sports activities, dance classes.I think that the school might have introduced other activities classes so children like him can also join ratgher than feeling inferior.

National Policy and Legislation:Three federal laws protect the rights of people with disabilities and ensure their inclusion in many aspects of society:

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973; The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, which was followed by the ADA Amendments Act of 2008 in an attempt to restore the original intent of the legislation; The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act in 2010

I would contribute in creating awareness in the society, psychoeducating families who have/dont have disabled people, Increasing the participation and acceptibility of disabled people in the occasions/culture., inclusiveness in every situation.
