The basal body is a structure associated with which of the following part of a cell? A) ribosomes B) flagella C) Mitochondria D) Nucles

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Answer: B) Flagella

Explanation:

A basal body (synonymous with basal granule, kinetosome, and in more established cytological writing with blepharoplast) is a protein structure found at the base of an eukaryotic undulipodium (cilium or flagellum). It is framed from a centriole and a few extra protein structures, and is, basically, a changed centriole. The basal body fills in as a nucleation site for the development of the axoneme microtubules. Centrioles, from which basal bodies are determined, go about as mooring locales for proteins that thus stay microtubules, and are known as the microtubule sorting out focus (MTOC). These microtubules give structure and encourage development of vesicles and organelles inside numerous eukaryotic cells.

The basal metabolic rate is the rate at which energy is produced in the body when a person is at rest. A 66 kg (146 lb) person of height 1.83 m (6.0 ft) would have a body surface area of approximately 1.9 m2. What is the net amount of heat this person could radiate per second into a room at 18.0 ∘C (about 64.4 ∘F) if his skin's surface temperature is 31.0 ∘C? (At such temperatures, nearly all the heat...
