At the beginning of chapter 6, the books states “…when public health efforts are successful, nothing happens” (Turnock, 2016, page 163). The fact that so few Ebola and Zika cases occurred on U.S. soil is solely due to public health’s efforts. Now we have COVID which is worse in the US than any other developed country. For this post,Think of a novel disaster, attack, disease or infection that could possibly become a public health issue. Describe this occurrence and a possible cause.

#. Heart disease is currently the leading cause of death both in the U.S. and worldwide. On average, someone dies from cardiovascular disease every 38 seconds, which is around 2,303 deaths per day (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2019). The term “heart disease” is actually used to describe several different conditions, many of which relate to the buildup of plaque in a person’s arteries or irregular heart rhythms. Some of the health behaviors that contribute to heart disease include:

Physical inactivity

Poor nutrition
