9)Nursing care of a patient recieving opioid analgesics-
1. Assess the location of the pain. Type, severity, frequency and duration of the pain.
2. Assess the Patient for CNS changes, or any side effects.
3. Assess the patient for hypersensitivity.
4. Aseptic technique should be maintained during drug administration.
5. Assess the patient for neuroleptic malignant syndrome, serotonin syndrome.

1. Assess the location of the pain. Type, severity, frequency and duration of the pain.
2. Assess the Patient for CNS changes, or any side effects.
3. Blood, urea, creatinine should be checked.
4. Assess the patient for hepatotoxicity, ototoxicity.
5. Assess the patient for ankle edema.
6. Drug should be administered as per doctor's order and asepetic technique should maintained.
7. Clam and comfortable environment should be given to the patient.
10) Factors that should be considered when pain is not relieved with analgesic medications.-
1. The patient is suffering from myocardial infarction, anginal pain or any neurological pain, nociceptive pain.
2. Patient is suffering from Anxiety, depression, uncomfortable so pain is not relieved.
3. Increasing oxygen demand also affects on pain relieving.
