Cancer is predominantly caused by individual behavioral choices. What can be done to promote proactive approaches to help eradicate this disease?

CANCER.

Uncontrolled growth and abnormal spread of cells are called cancer.

Most of the cancer cases are due to psychosocial factors such as stress, smoking, alcohol consumption, tobacco useage, poor nutrition, cancer causing infections such as hepatitis, HPV etc. All these cases can be prevented by some lifestyle changes such as diet, exercise, vaccines etc. Some cancers such as colorectal and cervical cancers can be prevented by screening.

There are some proactive approach for the prevention of cancer. They are :-

* take a healthy diet. Try to include more fruits and vegetables in our diet. Include more greens in our diet. Eat less red meat.

*take vitamin D. Vitamin D will reduce the risk of cancer.

*expose your skin to sunlight every day for 15 to 20 minutes.

*avoid stress by doing some relaxing techniques such as yoga, laughing, meditation etc.

*screening should be done.

*do exercise regularly. Some cancers are due to overweight and poor nutrition. So exercise is very important.

*avoid unhealthy practices such as smoking, alcohol consumption, tobacco useage etc. All these increase the risk of cancer.

*avoid toxins such as house hold cleaning products, pesticides etc.

*the most important factor is listen what your body is telling and if you have a concern visit your doctor and take appropriate measures.
