Poverty is the lack of sufficient income to provide for the basic necessities of life.A person living in poverty are more prone to mental retardation.A person born in poverty have to encounter more challenges and obstacles in first few years of life than a person not living in poverty.A baby born in poverty didnot get proper prenatal care.The poor  has no proper food and it can lead to malnutrition.Poor people have no access to health care,unsafe neighborhoods and food insecurity.All this can affect their mental health.People who live in poverty are usually  discriminated and this prevent them from securing basic education and employment.They usually experience economic hardships and usually prone to depression and anxiety.Mental retardation is consequence of poverty because poor people have limited access to health care and preventive services.

Cross eye is a condition in which eyes look in different directions.It is common in children.Studies have shown that cross eye conditions are undetected in children living in poverty.If cross eye is not diagnosed earlier it can lead to permanent vision loss.Untreated eye can cause lazy eye or amblyopia.In poor kids cross eyes are common and it affect self image of the child.

Muscle issues are common in people who living in poverty.Poor malnutrition is common in poor people and this cause poor muscle health.Poor muscle health can cause certain health problems like arthritis and osteoporosis.Poor muscle health can lead to fatigue and impaired muscle function.Kwashiorkor is a severe form of malnutrition in children with loss of muscle mass.People living in poverty did not eat enough proteins and this cause muscle problems.
