What are the neurotransmitters that reduce pain transmission through their actions in the dorsal horn?
Answer:- Many neurotransmitters reduce pain transmission thier action in dorsal horns but main GULTAMATE and SUBSTANCE P ( SP).
The sensation of pain is a necessary function that warns the body of potential or actual injury.it occur when a nociceptors fibres detect a painful stimulus on the skin or in an internal organ ( peripheral nervous system) .
The detection of that signals is picked up by receptor at the dorsal horn of the spinal cord and brainstem and transmitted to various areas of the brain as sensory information.
The facilitators of this pathway are known as neurotransmitters. These are endogenous chemical messenger that transmit signals across a chemical synpase from one to another target neurons, muscles cell, gland cells. Some neurotransmitters are excitatory and some are inhibitory which impeding the pain .
