Answer #1

Answer : Total intake in mL for this patient during the 1900 to 0700 hour shift is 1496 mL

From the following information find out intake from 1900 to 0700 ( 12 hours) are follows

1 cup of ice chips, 1 cup equals 240 mL, ice chips melts into water as half of its volume, ie ( ) = 120 mL

IV fluids of D5 1/2NSS infused 98mL/hr continuously ( ie 98 mL × 12 hours) = 1176 mL

Ampicillin 1 gram IVPB in 100 mL NSS q6h at 2400 and 0600 (two times), ie 100 × 2 = 200 mL

Total intake = 120 mL + 1176 mL + 200 mL

Total intake (from 1900 to 0700)  = 1496 mL
