Tick-born disease are the infections which is caused by infectious agent transmitted through by tick-bites. The infection is caused by variety of pathogens including Rickettsia, other type of bacteria, viruses, and protozoa.

The common tick- born disease are,

# Anaplasmosis

# Bourbon viral disease # Colorado tick fever

# Ehrlichiosis # Heartland viral disease

# Lyme disease # Powassan disease

# Tick born relapsing fever etc.

The most common tick born disease is lyme disease caused by 'borrelia burgdorferi.' it is a serious bacterial infection affecting both the animals and the humans

Symptoms of tick born disease.

The most common symptoms of tick born diseases are, # fever at varying degree # aches and pains include headache, fatigue,muscle ache and joint pain( lyme disease).  

Diagnosis

Tick born diseases are difficult to diagnose because of only on signs and symptoms .the signs and symptoms are similar to many other common conditions. Through a combination of bloodtest and the patient history of exposure the doctor suspect a tick born illness.

Blood test are,

# WBC count and Platelets count( the count of both become low.)  

# Liver function test ( which also become abnormal)  

# Polimerase chain reaction test ( PCR) ( in case of ehrlichiosis) it helps to identity specific genes unique to ehrlichiosis.

# Indirect fluorescent antibody test. (IFA). This test not used commonly. It measures the amount of antibody in the blood to the bacteria that causes ehrlichiosis
